I miss you so much
each day we’re apart.
I eagerly read your letters,
but nothing beats
being with you,
face to face,
and talking
heart to heart.
I yearn to
look into your eyes
the way that lovers do,
and hear you whisper,
“I love you.”
I long to kiss your lips,
and feel your familiar light
as we watch the stars
burn in the night.
How slowly time passes
while you’re away.
You’re all I can think about
every minute of the day.
And I can’t wait until
you’re right here
where you belong,
so that you can hold
me in your arms
all night long.
